Housekeeper (Assisted Living) - Senior Living Position

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Wheatfield Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents.

Responsibilities

• Follow a daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule to ensure resident rooms, common areas, and offices are clean and tidy.
• Straighten or rearrange furniture as needed or requested.
• Inspect furniture for wear and defects, and complete maintenance requests for necessary repairs.
• Empty and reline waste baskets, and keep designated smoking area cigarette receptacles clean.
• Replenish soap dispensers and bathroom tissue.
• Clean rooms after residents are discharged, and check rooms of residents moving in to ensure they are ready.
• Honor residents' rights, particularly related to privacy and confidentiality.
• Report unsafe situations immediately, such as frayed electrical cords, broken chairs, or torn rugs.
• Keep cleaning chemicals within view while performing tasks, and store them securely when not in use.
• Maintain janitor closets locked at all times.
• Use safety equipment when necessary, such as gloves and goggles when cleaning up body fluids.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in institutional housekeeping is preferred.
• Must have required references and a clean criminal record check.
• Must be in good standing with the Criminal History Background Check.
• Must have documentation showing they are free from tuberculosis disease that poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others.

Work Environment

Our well-lit, air-conditioned/heated environment may expose you to residents with communicable diseases or confused residents.
