Housekeeper (Assisted Living) - Senior Living Position

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at DePaul Senior Living Community. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Follows the cleaning schedule of resident rooms, common areas, and offices
• Straightens or rearranges furniture when needed or requested
• Inspects furniture for wear and defects; completes maintenance requests for needed repairs
• Empties and relines waste baskets
• Keeps designated smoking area cigarette receptacles clean
• Replenishes soap dispensers and bathroom tissue
• Cleans room after resident is discharged
• Checks rooms of resident who are moving in to ensure that the room is ready
• Honors resident's rights, especially related to privacy and confidentiality
• Reports unsafe situations immediately
• Keeps cleaning chemicals within view while performing tasks; keeps chemicals locked up when not in use
• Keeps janitor closets locked at all times
• Uses safety equipment when indicated

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age: high school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in institutional housekeeping preferred
• Must have the required references and criminal record check
• Must be in good standing with the Criminal History Background Check
• Must have documentation that he/she is free from tuberculosis disease that poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others

Work Environment

Well-lighted, air-conditioned/heated environment; may be exposed to residents with communicable diseases or confused residents.
