Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the School of Nursing in Bryan, Texas. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in delivering primary care to students, faculty, staff, families, and community residents in rural areas around the Brazos Valley of Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive health assessments, diagnose, and manage a wide range of health issues, including acute, chronic, and urgent/episodic conditions.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic plans of care, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic imaging, electrocardiographic exams, and medication management.
  • Provide education to patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and timely patient-centered care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience.
Requirements
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active license as a Registered Nurse and as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner, in the state of Texas with prescriptive authority.
  • National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support Certificate from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, including experience with web-based applications, electronic health records, and Microsoft Office applications.
