Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the School of Nursing in Bryan, Texas. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in delivering primary care to students, faculty, staff, families, and community residents in rural areas around the Brazos Valley of Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform history, psychosocial, and physical examinations, diagnose acute, chronic, and urgent/episodic primary care conditions, formulate therapeutic plans of care, and provide education to patients and their families.
  • Coordinate the care of patients to provide safe, effective, efficient, and timely patient-centered care.
  • Order therapeutic modalities such as medications, treatments, diagnostic tests, and perform primary care procedures.
  • Provide primary health care maintenance of the population served, including immunizations and recommended health screenings.
  • Counsel and instruct patients and significant others as appropriate on medications, disease, procedures, and preventive healthcare.

Requirements:

  • Master of Science degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active license as a Registered Nurse and as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse, Family Nurse Practitioner, in the state of Texas with prescriptive authority.
  • National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support Certificate from the American Heart Association.
