Nurse Practitioner II, Psychiatry - Clinical Expertise

At Texas A&M University, we are committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services to our patients. We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner II, Psychiatry to join our team of dedicated professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and crisis intervention for patients with mental health care needs.
  • Monitor patients to ensure adherence to treatment plans and engage in counseling/clinical-related activities.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications, serving as an internal resource for clinic staff and medical providers regarding psychiatric-mental health care questions.
  • Complete accurate and appropriate documentation of patient encounters in the electronic medical records system in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in nursing or equivalent level of education and experience that qualifies the applicant to hold a Nurse Practitioner License in Texas.
  • Two years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in mental health.
  • Board certified in mental health, with DEA registration and BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Five years of experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
