Database Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Systems Engineer to join our team at the Regional Organized Crime Information Center. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring, and upgrading devices, including cloud, servers, and appliances for the RISS enterprise.
Responsibilities:- Maintain the RISSNET systems and ensure they are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Design, install, configure, and upgrade devices, including cloud, servers, and appliances for the RISS enterprise.
- Configure and maintain infrastructure, including servers.
- Integrate software solutions within the existing environment while assuring continuity of services.
- Monitor RISSNET security and performance.
- Provide administration and purchasing services for infrastructure.
- Work with partners to ensure connectivity to all resources.
- Oversee and develop systems documentation.
- Collaborate with RISS Center information technology (IT) and help desk staff to assist with and troubleshoot complex technical issues and to provide infrastructure access, code examples, and web-based solutions to meet IT best practices and RISS infrastructure requirements.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science or related field.
- Five years of experience in database management, systems maintenance, and network engineering.
- High level of working knowledge of networks, architecture, best practices for systems, design, and implementation.
- Ability to work in a remote environment with prior approval required for location of Home Office.
- Subject to drug testing.
- Extensive background investigation.
- Law enforcement sensitive and potentially graphic or offensive material.
Candidate must pass CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) background requirements.
