Job Summary

The Student Support Assistant will provide onboarding services to prospective students, ensuring a smooth transition to successful student enrollment. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist students with completing applications and securing placement through placement test appointments or waivers under multiple measures.
Provide academic advisement to students, helping them choose courses and degree programs that align with their academic goals.
Collaborate with representatives from academic and non-academic departments to resolve student issues and provide guidance on college resources.
Maintain strict confidentiality and security of student records, preparing routine and special reports as required.

Requirements

Associate Degree or higher.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite operations and Student Web Services Portal.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Strong record-keeping and assessment skills, with the ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Two or more years' experience in admissions at an institution of higher education, with knowledge of admissions guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial aid programs and the college community, local community organizations, and local outside agencies.
Fluency in Spanish or Creole languages.
