We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing a full range of psychotherapy services to individuals in our care, including assessment, consultation, and family support.
Key Responsibilities- Perform casework, providing assessment, consultation, psychotherapy, and family support
- Provide professional support through supervision, peer mentoring, staff training, and quality reviews
- Support the organization through policy development, team membership, and participation on review boards
- Act as a liaison between departments and professional networks
To be considered for this role, you must possess a doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology and one year of post-doctoral experience as a psychologist working under the supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience developing behavior support plans for individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or developmental disabilities
- Experience coordinating clinical services with comprehensive and multidisciplinary treatment plans
- Experience working with trauma, and managing its impact on behavior
- Experience with the application of trauma-sensitive treatment
- Experience working with individuals with psychiatric and medical comorbidities and experience managing the potential impact on behavioral presentation
- Experience conducting functional assessments and developing positive behavioral support plans
- Experience with legal matters such as probate and competency restoration
Incumbents in this class may be required to lift and restrain individuals or inmates; may have some exposure to communicable/infectious diseases and to risk of injury from assaultive/abusive individuals or inmates; may be exposed to disagreeable conditions.
