Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant at Nephrology Associates of Northern Illinois and Indiana (NANI), you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading nephrology practice and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain examination areas and prepare treatment rooms and medical instruments for patient care.
- Interview patients, document basic medical history, and perform basic diagnostic procedures and data collection, including vital signs.
- Assist during medical examinations and monitor patient complaints or changes in patient condition.
- Provide patient education as directed by a physician regarding treatment, special diets, medication, follow-up diagnostic tests, and healthy lifestyle.
- Document all patient care provided and perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous relevant healthcare experience preferred.
- NRCMA, CMA, RMA, CCMA, or CMAA certification preferred.
- Second language proficiency a plus.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- 1+ years of experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software preferred.
