Position Overview:
As an Operating Room Nurse Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in managing surgical operations, specifically focusing on cases involving microplastics and plastics. This position is integral to ensuring the smooth functioning of the operating room.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Collaborating with surgeons to coordinate their surgical procedures and schedules, addressing specific requirements.
- Managing workflow and liaising with equipment vendors to ensure all necessary tools are available.
- Providing targeted in-services and educational support to nursing staff, fostering professional development.
- Acting as a mentor and resource for nursing team members, including TIP RNs and senior RNs.
- Overseeing inventory management, including ordering and restocking supplies and instruments.
- Preparing and verifying the list of supplies and equipment for surgical procedures, while maintaining and updating preference cards.
- Assuming the role of charge nurse when necessary, ensuring effective leadership in the operating room.
- Performing additional duties as required to support the surgical team.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
- Completion of the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certificate upon hire.
- Minimum of one year of nursing experience demonstrating leadership capabilities.
Preferred:
- National certification in your area of specialty upon hire.
