Job Summary

This position oversees the daily operations of a specific service shop and provides repair, inspection, calibration, and maintenance services to medical treatment and diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Biomedical Director to address service and usage issues with hospital department managers, equipment users, physicians, and administrative staff.
  • Communicate daily with the Biomedical Director and effectively handle all service emergencies.
  • Assist in ordering parts and supplies necessary for equipment servicing.
  • Maintain life support equipment.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to BMET I & BMET II technicians.
  • Participate in identifying value-added enhancements.
  • Promote the safe and effective use of clinical equipment.
  • Maintain effective professional customer relations and communication.
  • Perform cross-training with other technicians on acquired skills.
  • Provide input to the Director regarding new service opportunities and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience as a BMET II.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date on technological and medical advances.
  • Ability to maintain a current understanding of The Joint Commission, NFPA, and other regulatory agencies/standards.
  • Ability to support and maintain a wide variety of equipment.
  • BMET certification preferred.
