This position oversees the daily operations of a specific service shop and provides repair, inspection, calibration, and maintenance services to medical treatment and diagnostic equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Biomedical Director to address service and usage issues with hospital department managers, equipment users, physicians, and administrative staff.
- Communicate daily with the Biomedical Director and effectively handle all service emergencies.
- Assist in ordering parts and supplies necessary for equipment servicing.
- Maintain life support equipment.
- Provide technical support and assistance to BMET I & BMET II technicians.
- Participate in identifying value-added enhancements.
- Promote the safe and effective use of clinical equipment.
- Maintain effective professional customer relations and communication.
- Perform cross-training with other technicians on acquired skills.
- Provide input to the Director regarding new service opportunities and perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate's Degree in a related field preferred.
- Five or more years of experience as a BMET II.
- Ability to stay up-to-date on technological and medical advances.
- Ability to maintain a current understanding of The Joint Commission, NFPA, and other regulatory agencies/standards.
- Ability to support and maintain a wide variety of equipment.
- BMET certification preferred.
