Outside Parts Sales Representative

The Outside Parts Sales Representative is responsible for soliciting parts sales from new and established customers in assigned sales territories. This role requires maintaining market penetration, completing paperwork, and assisting with customer issues.
Key Responsibilities- Solicit sales of truck parts to customers within assigned territories, maintaining market penetration as required.
- Complete all necessary paperwork for parts orders and purchases, assisting the purchasing clerk with special orders.
- Assist customers with problems related to part sales, including returns and warranties.
- Maintain courteous and continuing relations with customers, working knowledge of their industries and equipment needs.
- Promote the sale of Kenworth trucks and service, facilitating communication between customers and other departments.
- Maintain a superior level of knowledge and expertise in the trucking industry and Kenworth trucks, attending training courses and seminars as required.
- Assist the Parts Manager with year-end inventory and other tasks as assigned.
- Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of sales experience in truck parts.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- Ability to use computer systems, ten-key calculator, microfiche, and read vendor catalogs.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
This position involves both sedentary and physical work. Employees will work at a desk in an office setting, doing paperwork, typing, filing, and key entry on a Video Display Terminal. Extensive telephone and correspondence work is required. Employees will also stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. Lifting of at least 50 lbs. without assistance on a daily basis is required. Employees will travel by car extensively within and outside the State on a daily basis, exposing them to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and hazardous materials.
