About the Role:

Cameron County is seeking a qualified Juvenile Supervision Officer to join our team. This part-time position will be responsible for providing direct supervision of youth in our care, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Salary and Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Supervision: Provide one-on-one and group supervision to youth, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Incident Reporting: Accurately document incidents, including resident behavior, accidents, and injuries.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other staff members, such as counselors, teachers, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive support for youth.
  • Training and Development: Participate in regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed care.

Requirements:

  • Education: Associate's degree in a related field, such as criminal justice, psychology, or government, is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with at-risk youth, preferably in a residential or correctional setting.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Possess a valid Texas driver's license and current automobile insurance.
  • Skills: Effective communication, problem-solving, and time management skills are essential.
