SER E Manager Role Summary
As the SER E Manager for Schneider Electric's Oxford manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements, including state, federal, and Schneider Electric regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide EHS support to operations, including engineering, non-manufacturing, and manufacturing, and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to establish and maintain EHS programs that promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with all EHS regulations and maintain a strong safety culture within the Oxford facility.
- Develop and implement effective EHS programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate compliance issues and improve overall EHS performance.
- Provide training and support to employees to ensure they understand and comply with EHS regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards and non-compliances.
- Collaborate with the union workforce to address EHS concerns and promote a positive working relationship.
- Develop and maintain relationships with union representatives to ensure open communication and effective resolution of EHS issues.
- Work with the union to develop and implement joint EHS initiatives and programs, such as training and safety committees.
- Provide technical EHS support to management and the safety committee, and lead the site safety committee.
- Participate in the site's Continuous Improvement/Lean/5S activities and provide recommendations for improving EHS practices within the facility.
- Serve as a liaison between the EHS department and the union to ensure effective communication and collaboration on EHS issues.
Requirements
- At least six years' experience in an EHS position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in electrical safety, machine guarding, training, and ergonomics is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing EHS programs and improving compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with unions and collective bargaining agreements is highly desirable.
- Degree in Environment, Health, and Safety Management or equivalent degree is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of EHS guidelines and regulations, including OSHA and Ohio state regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with union representatives and employees.
- Ability to travel to other Schneider Electric facilities and attend training sessions as required.
- Familiarity with Lean and 5S principles and ability to apply them in an EHS context.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
