About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiatrist to join our dynamic team at MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society. As a Physiatrist, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our General Physiatry Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality outpatient General Physiatry care to patients with a range of conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputee, multiple sclerosis, musculoskeletal injuries, complex neurological conditions, prehabilitation, migraine/headache, and complex medical conditions.
  • Collaborate with the PM&R Medical Director/Division Director and leadership to build strong relationships with referring departments and units, ensuring the continued growth and success of our program.
  • Participate in call coverage at the Acute Rehabilitation Unit (IRF) on a rotating basis, providing exceptional care and support to patients and families.
  • Provide cross-coverage of inpatient services for absences, ensuring seamless care and minimizing disruptions to our patients.
  • Work closely with APPs and trainees (medical students, residents, fellows, visiting students, and other allied health professionals) in inpatient and outpatient settings, providing guidance and mentorship to support their growth and development.
  • Close all patient encounters within eight (8) calendar days, ensuring timely and efficient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited PM&R residency training program.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible with the American Board of PM&R (ABPM&R).
  • Eligible to obtain a Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license.
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
  • Excellent clinical skills, with a strong focus on patient care and satisfaction.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Interest in education and scholarly activity, with a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience collaborating with individuals across multiple departments, practices, and health systems.
  • Experience with botulinum toxins injections to treat spasticity, dystonia, and migraines/headaches.
