Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse II Per Diem to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide direct care to patients in our psychiatric pods, working a variety of shifts including weekends and weekdays.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and effective direct care to patients, working within the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning.
  • Participate in orientation and precepting new personnel, ensuring a smooth transition to our team.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent and documentation.
  • Participate in emergency measures, including instituting emergency care as needed.
Requirements
  • 1 year of direct experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification, with RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient care and safety.
