About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and lead to ensure equipment complies with all safety, environmental, and other regulatory compliances.
  • Track engineering expense and capital budgeting compliance.
  • Assist to ensure the proper design, installation, modification, and maintainability of new and existing plant equipment, buildings, and facilities.
  • Provide support to the production organization to promote the production of the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost.
  • Perform activities involving continuous improvement tools, analysis of product irregularities, recommending solutions, and facilitating cost-down initiatives related to improving product costs.
  • Identify unacceptable performance through data gathering and/or analysis and technical knowledge of the product and process, including waste and cost reductions.
  • Provide support to prepare cost estimates, financially justify projects, prepare budgets, review design, supervise installation, and commissioning.
  • Research new equipment, systems, and processes to advance plant operations on smaller projects.
  • Ensure safety, environmental, and other regulatory compliances by working with appropriate associates on EHS issues, following the implementation of MSR's, and continually improving communication across all relevant departments.
  • Assist in contractor management processes and periodically audit contractor's work to ensure that safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 2+ years of experience working with multidisciplinary Engineering and Maintenance associates to achieve cost-effective goals.
  • Equipment design experience and project engineering or project management role is preferred.
  • Experience with PLC's.
  • Project experience including installation of new equipment and equipment start-ups.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to use appropriate computer-based technology, program, and debug programming languages and troubleshoot machine problems.
  • Ability to understand and design modern safety control systems.
  • Ability to understand electrical diagrams and some knowledge in design electrical control systems.
  • Ability to interpret and create technical CAD drawings and schematics.
