Electromagnetic NDE Research Assistant

Job Summary:

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electromagnetic NDE Research Assistant to join our team. As an Electromagnetic NDE Research Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting scientific experiments, generating and simulating models related to the Electromagnetic non-destructive evaluation (NDE) test method.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct scientific experiments and generate/simulate models related to the Electromagnetic NDE test method.
  • Evaluate models and results, and document findings in a report or other format as determined by the Manager.
  • Support other NDE research activities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's and/or master's degree in engineering or physics.
  • Strong teamwork skills and attributes.
  • Ability to function reliably with minimum supervision.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Well-developed technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Able to integrate project work with internal technical experts and inspection vendors.
  • Principled - Ethical.
  • Experience with LabView, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Matlab a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office products.
Compensation:

The hourly rate range for this position is as follows:

  • Undergraduate: $16-29 per hour
  • Masters: $25-31 per hour
  • Ph.D: $27-34 per hour
Benefits:

As an EPRI Student, you will not participate in EPRI's Benefit Programs, which includes health insurance, retirement benefits, vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay. However, as a Student employee, you are eligible for the benefits of Social Security, State Disability Insurance, and Workers' Compensation Insurance.
