About the Role
The Evaluation Systems division at Pearson provides innovative solutions for teacher licensing and performance assessments. Our tailored teacher licensure testing programs are fully aligned with state standards, offering a comprehensive range of services including test development, administration, and scoring.

Position Summary
As a scorer, you will play a crucial role in evaluating the responses of teacher candidates in Massachusetts. This position allows you to connect with fellow professionals and stay updated on the latest advancements in your field. Scorers have a significant impact on the quality of future educators and contribute to maintaining high professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Assess responses of teacher candidates based on established scoring rubrics.
- Internalize training materials and scoring guidelines, actively participating in discussions.
- Set aside personal biases to apply scoring criteria objectively.
- Meet the quality and productivity benchmarks set for the scoring program.
- Engage in consensus scoring activities with other evaluators.
- Successfully pass a qualifying assessment prior to scoring.

Working Conditions
Scoring sessions typically last one day and occur every two months, scheduled on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m., including training.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or higher.
- A current Massachusetts Technology and Engineering teaching license, with recent experience in Massachusetts public schools, or recent college-level teaching experience in Technology and Engineering.
- Basic computer skills (keyboard and mouse proficiency).
- Ability to participate in online meetings using a personal computer equipped with a webcam, microphone, and speakers.
- Capacity to sit for extended periods and maintain confidentiality in the work environment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
