Foundations of Reading Scorer

We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Foundations of Reading Scorers. As a scorer, you will play a critical role in evaluating responses from teacher candidates in Massachusetts, ensuring the accuracy and quality of our assessment results.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate responses from teacher candidates in Massachusetts, adhering to our rigorous scoring guide and rubric.
- Successfully internalize training and scoring guide, participating in discussions and consensus scoring activities.
- Apply scoring guide according to rubric requirements, putting aside personal biases and maintaining a high level of objectivity.
- Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, ensuring timely and accurate completion of scoring tasks.
- Engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Pass a qualifying test before scoring, demonstrating your expertise and understanding of our scoring guide and rubric.
Training takes place before scoring begins, and you will participate in a brief orientation meeting before the day of scoring occurs. Scoring sessions are typically two to three days long and take place during the week, Monday through Friday. Scoring sessions will occur every one or two weeks, with a scoring day that runs from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m., including training.
Qualifications- A bachelor's degree or higher, and
- A current Massachusetts Reading Specialist teaching license OR recent college-level teaching experience in reading and literacy in a teacher preparation program
- A current Massachusetts Elementary Ed or Special Ed teaching license and additional reading-specific credentials
- Both active and retired teachers can be eligible to score, provided they hold a current teaching license.
- Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse)
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to maintain a confidential work environment
- Eligible to work in the United States
