Job Summary

The Patient Representative is the primary point of contact for patients and visitors at Midstate Radiology Associates. This role requires a high level of customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patient Registration and Scheduling: Greet patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and schedule appointments for radiology exams.
  2. Order Entry and Verification: Collect and enter patient orders, verify diagnosis codes, and communicate with physician offices as needed.
  3. Financial Transactions: Collect co-pays, explain financial requirements to patients, and process payments.
  4. Document Preparation: Prepare and initiate required documents for scheduled procedures.
  5. Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
  6. Exam Preparation: Assist patients with exam preparations and provide necessary instructions.
  7. Communication and Collaboration: Interact with other departments, carriers, and physician offices to ensure accurate demographic and insurance information.
  8. Report and Image Distribution: Provide patients or physician's offices with reports and images on CD.
  9. Department Support: Assist with department cleanliness and disinfecting, and follow established policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least one year of customer service experience in a medical setting preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, quality assurance, and customer service principles and practices.
  • Abilities: Effective communication, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team environment.
