The Accountant II is responsible for executing a variety of accounting functions, including the analysis, reconciliation, and verification of assigned general ledger accounts and accounting systems.
This role will play a crucial part in both internal and external audits, while also providing mentorship and leadership to junior accounting personnel and acting as a liaison to both internal and external stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities may vary based on the assignment.Key Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and discrepancies.
- Serve as a bridge between the Accounting department and internal clients.
- Conduct thorough analyses, reviews, and audits of designated programs, processes, or accounting functions (such as payroll, accounts payable, grants, etc.).
- Review and analyze financial reports to detect errors, misstatements, or unrecorded transactions.
- Maintain documentation and promptly resolve identified issues.
- Provide guidance to junior staff on resolving issues and collaborate with internal departments and external clients to identify, investigate, and rectify discrepancies.
- Coordinate external audits, preparing schedules and serving as a liaison with internal clients and external auditors.- Gather and compile data from various sources, preparing, distributing, and maintaining a range of periodic and ad-hoc reports.
- Review and analyze reports to identify errors, misstatements, or unrecorded transactions, implementing timely corrections.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Prepare journal, payroll, and/or general ledger entries, ensuring documentation is maintained and timely payments/remittances are processed.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, as well as departmental standards.
- Review entries made by junior staff for accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide high-level support for specific accounting functions, which may include budget preparation, grant management, budget proposals, and resource utilization.
Qualifications- A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience may be required based on the assignment (e.g., Grant Accounting, Payroll, Budgets, etc.).
- At least 5 years of accounting experience is required, with a preference for healthcare experience.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience that equips the individual with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform essential job functions, while meeting any required state or federal certification standards.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to community health and provide culturally competent care to underserved populations.
In the spirit of transparency, we are pleased to share the base salary range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.
Your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience.
We value pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
Please note that the range mentioned above reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role.Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical to allow for future salary growth.
