Responsibilities of the Service Center Porter:
- Drive vehicles to and from the showroom, service department, parking garage, or other storage areas as needed to maintain inventory and assist customers and dealership staff in vehicle retrieval.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is placed in vehicles, including window stickers, manuals, and promotional materials.
- Create key tags for vehicles and organize keys for new, used, and loaner vehicles.
- Deliver keys and other materials to various departments upon request.
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Perform general cleaning of vehicles on display, including dusting, vacuuming, and rinsing.
- Keep vehicle lots neat and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness of the service area, showroom, and exterior display areas.
- Shuttle customers as needed.
- Fill vehicles with fuel.
- Operate all tools and equipment safely.
- Use proper protective gear when handling products that require it.
- Understand and adhere to work rules and procedures.
- Follow all attendance and punctuality standards, including recording time of arrival, departure, and breaks.
- Comply with lawful directions from supervisors.
- Uphold the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies.
- Attend company meetings as required.
- Work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance and work area in accordance with company policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements for the Service Center Porter:
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent; three months or more of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certificates
- A valid CDL and DOT medical card is preferred.
