Buehler Food Markets is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Salaried Catering Manager Trainee to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Catering Department at your assigned location.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage top-line catering sales and bottom-line profitability of the Catering Department.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Catering team, focusing on exceptional customer service and employee relations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Catering Director, Food Service Manager, and larger Food Service Team to develop and deliver innovative catering offerings.
  • Align staffing with operational needs, ensuring effective use of Catering labor.
  • Proactively promote catering services to potential customers through various marketing methods and sales techniques.
  • Act as the Catering customer's advocate, ensuring their events are 'special' by meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • Organize custom orders and full-service events, utilizing effective communication, record-keeping, and follow-through.
  • Assist with food preparation for catered events and high-volume periods as needed.
  • Upsell Buehler's Floral, Bakery, and Beer and Wine Departments to improve total store sales and provide a one-stop 'event' shop.
  • Follow up with customers after events to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback.
Requirements
  • Previous management experience or familiarity with catering operations.
  • Able to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to manage stress and maintain composure in busy situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, as well as Buehler's personnel policies and procedures.
