Role Summary:

The Biomedical Equipment Technician II is responsible for a range of duties related to the setup, upkeep, calibration, and repair of essential biomedical devices in alignment with the organization's Medical Equipment Management Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on fundamental clinical devices, including thermometers, EKG machines, and infusion pumps, following established protocols.
  • Respond to and prioritize urgent requests for immediate repairs of biomedical equipment through the Engineering Department's Computerized Maintenance Management system.
  • Evaluate and document newly acquired clinical equipment in accordance with organizational policies, collaborating with team members to determine and assign appropriate future maintenance tasks.
  • Assist the Biomed Supervisor or senior technicians during repair or preventive maintenance tasks for more complex clinical equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or a related field, or a combination of relevant experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Certification as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in general electromechanical troubleshooting is required.
