Job Overview

POSITION: Paratransit Driver

LOCATION: York, Pennsylvania

COMPANY: JCSI is a regional public transportation provider in Pennsylvania, dedicated to delivering a range of transportation solutions to the communities in various counties.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role reports directly to the Site Manager or Operations Supervisor. The selected candidate will undergo three weeks of training and will operate under general supervision while adhering to the standards set by the organization.

SALARY:
$18.50 per hour for candidates with a standard driver's license.
$19.50 per hour for those holding a CDL Class A or B, along with a Passenger Endorsement and an Air Brake Restriction Lifted.

*Weekly paychecks and an attractive benefits package are included.*

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely operating a designated van or bus to transport passengers in a courteous and professional manner, following the daily schedule which may vary.
  • Adapting to variable shifts and irregular hours, with a willingness to work overtime or respond to safety emergencies.
  • Performing general maintenance on vehicles, including cleaning, fueling, and ensuring compliance with the Maintenance Plan.
  • Preparing for daily operations by reporting to dispatch on time and being physically ready to perform driving duties while adhering to the dress code.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and reliability, completing pre- and post-trip inspection checklists, and addressing any non-compliance issues with the Dispatcher or Supervisor.
  • Maintaining safety by following traffic laws, monitoring conditions, and enforcing passenger safety regulations.
  • Executing proper emergency protocols in the event of an accident or safety incident, including notifying the appropriate personnel and documenting the event.
  • Reviewing incidents and exceptions with the Supervisor to ensure compliance with policies and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Availability to work during operational hours: Monday through Saturday from 3:30 AM to 11 PM, with schedules assigned post-training.
  • This position is safety-sensitive and subject to US DOT Drug and Alcohol testing protocols.
  • A High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
