We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Engineer to join our Technical Services Team at Welch Fluorocarbon, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conceiving, designing, and developing new products and processes through engineering analysis, prototyping, and qualification testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products and processes
- Manage smaller development projects with minimal direction from senior engineering staff
- Evaluate and implement design or process changes to improve performance, quality, and manufacturability
- Design and verify tools, gauges, and equipment needed for new product or customer programs
- Support the qualification processes and lead experiments to confirm or resolve design questions
- Implement LEAN and Six Sigma continuous improvement best practices
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in an Engineering (or Engineering Technology) field
- At least 4 years of demonstrated engineering experience
- Knowledge of plastic part fabrication techniques, thermoforming, and machine design
- Proficient computer skills and advanced skills in 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of CMM programming software and interface preferred
