Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Engineer to join our Technical Services Team at Welch Fluorocarbon, Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conceiving, designing, and developing new products and processes through engineering analysis, prototyping, and qualification testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop new products and processes
  • Manage smaller development projects with minimal direction from senior engineering staff
  • Evaluate and implement design or process changes to improve performance, quality, and manufacturability
  • Design and verify tools, gauges, and equipment needed for new product or customer programs
  • Support the qualification processes and lead experiments to confirm or resolve design questions
  • Implement LEAN and Six Sigma continuous improvement best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in an Engineering (or Engineering Technology) field
  • At least 4 years of demonstrated engineering experience
  • Knowledge of plastic part fabrication techniques, thermoforming, and machine design
  • Proficient computer skills and advanced skills in 3D CAD software
  • Knowledge of CMM programming software and interface preferred
