Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team at the Midland Independent School District. The successful candidate will assist the Electrical Foreman with daily work orders, planning, and implementation of electrical projects, and provide technical expertise to maintain and repair district electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Electrical Foreman with scheduling repairs and modifications to district electrical systems and circuits.
  • Provide technical expertise to maintain and repair district electrical systems.
  • Assist in planning and implementation of electrical projects, including electrical renovations and upgrades.
  • Communicate with administrators to coordinate schedules and minimize disruptions.
  • Provide necessary skills to troubleshoot maintenance problems and interface with Oncor Equipment and services.
  • Follow instructions and be flexible to changes in work assignments.
  • Keep the Electrical Foreman and F.C.C.S. Supervisor informed on all projects and work order status.
  • Maintain and process electrical work orders, invoices, and budget projects in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Maintain a State of Texas Journeyman Electrician's License.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and refrigeration repairs and repair techniques.
  • General knowledge and aptitude of building construction and electrical systems.
  • Project a positive attitude among district personnel and demonstrate a willingness to work.
  • Background in electrical systems and circuit repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
  • Ability to plan and budget projects.
  • Working knowledge and ability to read construction documents, drawings, and equipment schematic drawings.
  • General computer knowledge.
