Job Summary

The Lead Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and maintenance of VersAbility Resources facilities. This position assists the Facilities Manager and works collaboratively with various departments to coordinate maintenance and equipment needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Performs painting, carpentry, and masonry work, including preparing surfaces and applying paints, stains, and varnishes. Hangs doors, fits locks and handles, and performs minor plumbing maintenance.
  • Facilities Management: Reconfigures, installs, positions, and remounts modular office and space to accommodate user needs and maximize office space. Interacts with contractors who perform maintenance and services for VersAbility Resources.
  • Fire Safety and Training: Assists with fire safety and training for VersAbility's facilities, including inspecting buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions.
  • Electrical Maintenance: Performs minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures, such as wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, and ballast.
  • Project Evaluation and Coordination: Assists in evaluating short- and long-term needs in relation to major projects and property improvements. Attends and participates in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Responds to after-hour maintenance requests and initiates or performs maintenance response as required. Member of the Emergency Preparedness Response Team.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma; Trade School Training/completion preferably in carpentry.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience or recently completed trade school preferably in carpentry.
