Position: Heavy Machinery Maintenance Technician
Location: Hampton
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and rectify issues related to heavy construction, grading, and asphalt machinery.
- Maintain a secure working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and utilizing the correct tools for each task.
- Conduct repairs and overhauls on various types of heavy machinery, including pumps, air compressors, transmissions, and associated components.
- Test machinery post-repair to verify performance and ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Implement preventive maintenance measures to extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Accurately document work orders and parts requisitions in a timely manner.
- Alert the Shop Foreman regarding any emerging issues.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance is preferred.
Required Skills:
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing heavy grading and paving machinery.
- Experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
- Ability to perform repairs in compliance with safety regulations.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Mechanical aptitude is essential.
- Job entails various physical activities including climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Potential exposure to extreme weather conditions.
