The Maintenance Inventory Clerk will play a critical role in our maintenance department, assisting the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler in coordinating inventory efforts to maximize efficiency. This role is responsible for all activities related to physical material movement and tracking, documentation management, inventory accuracy and reporting, receiving, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure spare parts service level, inventory turns, and inventory accuracy are maintained at optimal levels.
  • Develop and implement action plans with deadlines to achieve management-set goals and track progress regularly.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to resolve inventory issues, reduce costs, increase machine uptime and reliability, and provide management and employees with necessary information.
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures for the stock room area in accordance with industrial manufacturing standards.
  • Engage in all aspects of safety, including food safety, with employees, contractors, and vendors.
  • Monitor the security of the stockroom and/or tool room.
  • Perform Cycle Counts of stock items as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stock room consistent with industry standards.
  • Responsible for all outgoing shipments from the maintenance department, including bill of lading, scheduling pick-ups, and proper packing of the shipment.
  • Work to maintain and improve the quality, legality, and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture.
  • Supervise the dispensing of parts for job kitting.
  • Quality inspect the parts as received.
  • Help manage the spare parts for Capex inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School degree or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Direct knowledge from procurement to point of use in manufacturing.
  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Must possess (or have the ability to get) an industrial lift license.
  • Proficient use of Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, the Internet, and CMMS.
  • A hands-on knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) spare parts.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in food manufacturing and how it relates to maintenance and a demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations.
  • Must be fluent in reading/writing of the English language.
  • Working knowledge of hazardous chemicals and materials and the proper storage and disposal of such items.
