Position: Senior Project Manager for Technology Solutions

Role Overview:

The Senior Project Manager for Technology Solutions is responsible for overseeing various functions assigned by the Technologies Division Manager. This role involves estimating both large and small-scale technology projects, including telecommunications, access control, distributed antenna systems (DAS), and audio/visual installations, as well as managing the projects that are awarded. Daily responsibilities include conducting thorough research, procuring necessary materials, supporting team members throughout project development, scheduling, and updating project data, along with providing progress reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, bid documents, and other relevant materials to determine project requirements and formulate bid proposals.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid documents, including detailed scope letters for each project.
  • Identify potential issues, conflicts, and challenges within bid documents.
  • Develop strategies to enhance bidding advantages.
  • Review quotes to ensure compliance with requests and accuracy.
  • Calculate costs associated with electrical construction based on thorough document evaluation.
  • Price change orders as necessary and engage with clients to explain and justify pricing.
  • Generate monthly progress billings, including creating schedules of values and reviewing job costs from work-in-progress reports.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and future business opportunities.
  • Participate actively in manpower coordination with department management and field leadership.
  • Oversee the seamless execution of multiple projects from initiation to completion.
  • Collect and analyze data to set project objectives.
  • Communicate any changes in project plans to team members effectively.
  • Conduct quality reviews to ensure adherence to industry best practices.
  • Evaluate projects for value engineering opportunities while considering specific job conditions affecting labor and materials.
  • Proactively identify potential challenges and develop solutions.
  • Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and suppliers.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Prepare budget estimates.
  • Compile work-in-progress reports for monthly meetings with executive leadership.
  • Keep the Technologies Division Manager and relevant stakeholders informed about bid progress.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, building science, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of combined experience in estimating or project management within low voltage electrical contracting or a related field.
  • Current RCDD Certification is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of various electrical materials and installation methods.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:

This position is primarily office-based, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday during standard business hours. However, extended hours may be required as project deadlines approach, including occasional weekend work. Fieldwork may necessitate temporary travel away from home.

While performing the duties of this role, the Senior Project Manager may encounter fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations, as well as various extreme conditions at construction sites, including weather and noise.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by a project manager to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

The Senior Project Manager may occasionally need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Direct Reports:

The Senior Project Manager may occasionally oversee project coordinators and project engineers, and may also collaborate with labor superintendents and general foremen.
