We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Calibration technician to excel in our Arlington, TX facility.

The CMM Tech develops setups, and fixtures, and establishes methods for efficient CMM operation and inspection of piece part components as required and can evaluate against 3D CAD solid model files.

The CMM Tech verifies feature dimensional and visual inspections related to prototype, first article parts, in-process and production assemblies, also performing final checks, validation, and testing using the CMM, manual metrology, non-contact optical and vision systems, engineering drawings, procedures, and work instructions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop repeatable setups, operate and utilize the CMM by programming and saving inspection routines, and use pre-written programs as the CMM Inspection Team Leader in the department for automotive parts.
  • Understand and exercise GD&T concepts and apply feature dimensional language (GD&T) requirements as per the related engineering drawings.
  • Calibrate and periodically qualify each CMM's probes using established routines.
  • Perform inspection(s) of products to check for conformance to specifications and evaluate inspection results to determine compliance with drawing requirements.
  • Utilize other manual and hand-held measuring tools such as calipers, go-no/go gages micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, profilometers, and others like metrology.
  • Utilize ERP software to input and analyze measurement data.
  • Collaborate with team members to communicate inspection results, address quality concerns, and implement corrective actions, as needed.
  • Follow PPAP process guidelines for new product launches or special projects.
  • Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements/Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience

    • GD&T
    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
  • Read & Interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Trained in Common Mechanical Inspection metrology & Equipment
  • Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • High School/GED
