Ophthalmology Veterinary Team Member

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ophthalmology Veterinary Team Member to join our team at South Texas Veterinary Ophthalmology. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the veterinarians and veterinary technicians in their daily tasks.
About the Role:The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining exam rooms and treatment areas, assisting with ophthalmology exams, and supporting the veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures.
You will also be responsible for updating client/patient files, obtaining patient weight, taking vital signs, and administering treatments as directed by a veterinarian or on the patient treatment sheet.
In addition, you will help maintain the cleanliness of the hospital, including laundry, kennel area, runs, treatment area, and outside grounds. You will also provide ophthalmic specialized nursing care to injured or ill patients and prepare instruments and equipment for surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas
- Assist with ophthalmology exams
- Support veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
- Update client/patient files
- Obtain patient weight and take vital signs
- Administer treatments as directed
- Maintain hospital cleanliness
- Provide ophthalmic specialized nursing care
- Prepare instruments and equipment for surgical procedures
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in a veterinary setting preferred
