Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance Advisory:
    • Offer expert advice on OSHA, RCRA, and state regulations concerning hazardous materials and workplace safety.
    • Participate in the creation and revision of chemical hygiene plans to ensure alignment with current regulations and best practices.
  • Risk Assessment and Monitoring:
    • Perform thorough risk assessments and hazard evaluations related to chemical exposure, noise, ventilation, ergonomics, and other occupational health concerns.
    • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments, recommending effective control strategies.
  • Program Development and Execution:
    • Design and implement tailored industrial hygiene programs and policies to meet client needs.
    • Develop and execute exposure monitoring plans, including air sampling and noise assessments, providing detailed reports and actionable insights.
  • Best Practices and Process Enhancement:
    • Guide clients on best practices for regulatory compliance, focusing on Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), waste management, and facility planning.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to bolster safety and compliance.
  • Inspections and Remedial Actions:
    • Conduct comprehensive inspections and audits of client facilities to identify potential health and environmental risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
    • Address inspection findings and formulate detailed corrective action plans.
  • System Design and Implementation:
    • Support the design and implementation of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and Integrated Quality Management Systems (IQMS) for health and safety operations.
  • Annual Reviews and Inspections:
    • Perform annual evaluations of health and safety and environmental management systems.
    • Conduct laboratory inspections and develop responses to findings, fostering continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Training and Development:
    • Create and deliver training sessions on industrial hygiene, chemical safety, and emergency preparedness.
    • Provide expert advice on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality service.
    • Act as the primary contact for clients regarding industrial hygiene and safety matters.
Additional Information:
  • This position involves a hybrid work model with a requirement for onsite presence.
  • Travel to various client locations is necessary.
  • Participation in professional development and continuing education is encouraged to stay updated with current knowledge and certifications.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) in Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, Toxicology, or a related field is required.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in:
    • Implementation of OSHA/RCRA/state regulations, particularly in environments where chemicals are utilized.
    • Design and execution of LIMS and IQMS.
    • Up to three years of hands-on experience in environmental analytical chemistry may be included in the total experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in data management and report preparation.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and projects concurrently.
  • Authorization to work in the US is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check for access to federal properties.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in diverse environments, including laboratories and sites where chemicals are used.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
  • Conduct site inspections and utilize monitoring equipment.
  • Must be capable of performing physical tasks, including climbing ladders and lifting equipment up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during inspections and audits.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications in relevant fields, such as OSHA compliance or waste management, are preferred.
  • 40-hour OSHA/EPA HAZWOPER training is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
