Job Summary
Metrology Technician II, Linear Dimensional, is responsible for the calibration and certification of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment to technical specifications, maintaining traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration and certification of electronic and physical/dimensional measuring and test equipment to technical specifications.
- Maintain traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
- Perform complex configuration and testing of equipment according to instructions, blueprints, schematic sketches, and/or prescribed testing procedures.
- Make reports on electronic or instrumentation system conditions, repairs, and preventive maintenance performed.
- Prepare and maintain repair and maintenance records as required by federal and department regulations and directives.
Requirements
- High school diploma with minimum 4 years' experience or associate degree with 3 years' experience in relevant field.
- U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
- Preferred experience in dimensional calibration to include gage blocks, calipers, micrometers, thread plug gages, ring gages, and GD&T.
- Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track, and Met/Cal experience a plus.
- Previous customer service experience a plus.
