Role Responsibilities:

The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily functions of the accounting department and collaborate closely with the Controller to uphold accounting standards, practices, and procedures, ensuring precise and timely financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or 10 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, or a strong desire to develop skills in coaching, accountability, culture, and results.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on driving and achieving results.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision to meet objectives.
  • Highly organized with exceptional time management skills.
  • Proficient in project management, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements.
  • Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Ability to develop and document processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including internal office software and the ability to master The Ladders' specific systems, such as Excel and accounting software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Capability to analyze substantial data sets.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating an objective perspective.
