The Manufacturing Cost Analyst is integral to the Finance division, managing various cost-related functions across several production sites. Key duties encompass product costing, maintaining overhead rates for plants, analyzing variances in production work orders, and aiding in the monthly financial closing processes. This role is situated in our primary facility and reports to the Corporate Controller.

Core Responsibilities

  • Calculate, document, and report unit cost metrics
  • Deliver cost and comparative analysis reports to management
  • Examine actual manufacturing expenses and generate periodic reports
  • Assist in formulating cost accounting methodologies and protocols
  • Support month-end closing tasks and special initiatives
  • Foster a collaborative and reliable atmosphere within the accounting team

Qualifications & Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a cost accountant in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; an MBA is advantageous
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong grasp of accounting principles and cost accounting practices
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical capabilities
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic work environment
  • Knowledgeable in finance, budgeting, and cost management procedures
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Establish precise labor and overhead rates
  • Analyze work order discrepancies and maintain bills of materials
  • Ensure accurate standard costing
  • Enhance internal controls concerning inventory management
  • Lead processes related to inventory costing and reserves
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist with month-end closing activities
  • Support general ledger coding for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

  • Encourage a culture of teamwork and cooperation
  • Pursue continuous improvement in operational processes
  • Consistently enhance team and individual performance

This position may require overtime and occasional travel.
