Cost Accountant

We're seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at Loop Recruiting. As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our cost accounting system, incorporating a deep understanding of manufacturing operations and generally accepted accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and post daily manufacturing accounting entries.
- Review cost and variance trends, researching significant variations and recommending appropriate responses.
- Prepare daily operating performance analysis, including inventory movements, sales, and cost of goods sold, to identify significant issues in a timely fashion.
- Review new BOMs and Routers submitted for cost freeze for accuracy.
- Perform monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation of cost ledgers.
- Evaluate and approve cost review requests, including operating impact analysis.
- Process CAPEX requests, tracking spend and capitalizing assets as required.
- Perform data analysis using ODBC reporting tools as required to perform job duties or as requested by management staff.
- Perform data management tasks in JDE using Z-files and mass upload capabilities.
- Prepare and monitor operating forecasts based on budgets, reviewing significant variations and analyzing operating impact.
- Establish labor and overhead rates in line with operating budgets.
- Perform annual cost roll and inventory revaluation, working with purchasing and operations management to enhance accuracy of cost components.
- Assist other employees with information and/or analysis when requested.
- Demonstrate understanding, support, and consistent application of our Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
- Provide payroll processing coverage as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience required.
- Previous experience with complex accounting areas desirable (e.g., Fixed Assets, Reclamation, etc.).
- Previous experience utilizing large accounting systems desirable (e.g., Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics).
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to analyze issues, develop potential solutions, and communicate recommendations.
- Technology proficient.
