Role Overview:
In this role, you will operate under general guidance, leading initiatives in industrial safety risk management and evaluating manufacturing processes across various scenarios.

Success in this position requires a solid foundation in technical, mechanical, and operational aspects of manufacturing. You will be expected to comprehend industrial safety protocols, assess process risks, and implement effective technical and management system solutions.

Your focus will be on the ongoing enhancement of industrial safety measures, risk identification, and the development of process safety programs and workflows.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Analyze and interpret Safety Data Sheets for site materials and products.
  • Provide expertise in industrial safety risk assessments and management processes, leading assessments across the site and coaching team members in risk management methodologies.
  • Identify and oversee improvements in production processes through Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
  • Educate employees on risk identification and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Conduct comprehensive Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, and safe work planning.
  • Perform thorough machine guarding assessments in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in design reviews for new and modified facilities and processes to ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Develop and maintain systems to monitor EHS program performance and drive improvements based on key performance indicators.
  • Respond to incidents and assist in conducting incident investigations.
  • Execute Root Cause Analysis and prepare corrective/preventive action reports.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and safety regulations.
  • Lead or participate in EHS project teams.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple projects effectively.
  • Utilize best practices and knowledge of internal procedures and industry standards to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Review drafts of production records and SOPs for EHS impacts as necessary.
  • Experience in fostering EHS culture initiatives that enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with external contractors on facility and equipment projects to ensure compliance with site and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in technical writing and deliver various EHS training topics.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments using recognized evaluation tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial safety within a regulated environment, with knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, NFPA, and other consensus standards.
  • Understanding of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and FDA regulations.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in English, including grammar and punctuation.
  • Experience with machine guarding standards and ergonomic evaluation tools.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and SOP requirements.
  • Strong training and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in business and personal computer applications.
  • Experience with EHS management systems.
  • Familiarity with high-risk work activities and risk mitigation strategies.
