Job Overview - Regional Safety Manager

At Stock Transportation, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality service, and positive employee engagement.

The Regional Safety Manager plays a pivotal role in minimizing vehicular incidents and workplace injuries while ensuring compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations through the promotion of a safety-oriented culture. This position will support each local service center in enhancing their safety and training personnel's professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with local management teams to create strategies for preventing vehicle accidents and work-related injuries based on data analysis.
2. Evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends using comprehensive data systems to pinpoint focus areas.
3. Work alongside regional leadership and site personnel to tackle identified opportunities for improvement.
4. Design and execute safety awareness initiatives.
5. Foster the professional growth of Safety Supervisors and Managers, enhancing skills in areas such as training, investigation, and employee evaluation.
6. Build interdepartmental relationships to fulfill business needs.
7. Conduct monthly discussions with local leadership teams to assess current KPI performance, review preventive actions, and share best practices.
8. Ensure that the training program aligns with business requirements, including adequate resources for trainers and trainees.
9. Develop and implement effective safety communication and training initiatives.
10. Oversee the compliance of safety training programs with established regulations.
11. Assist in the development of regional leadership and local management teams.
12. Collaborate with local teams to train new safety committees.
13. Assess the effectiveness of local coaches and trainers to identify areas for improvement and recognition.
14. Conduct facility reviews and debriefs with management teams based on identified needs.
15. Perform program audits as per company policy.
16. Ensure adherence to company programs and governmental regulations.
17. Liaise with local teams and federal regulators during audits or inspections.
18. Undertake special projects as directed by senior management.
19. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of extensive safety or loss control experience in commercial transportation.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to quickly grasp technical products and apply knowledge effectively.
- Proficient in presenting KPI metrics to diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience managing safety programs for a fleet of 500 vehicles or more, involving over 500 employees.
- Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
- Willingness to travel; this role requires approximately 50-75% fieldwork.
- Proven success in managing cross-functional relationships.
