Lead Battery Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities
The Lead Battery Systems Engineer will be tasked with the design, development, and release of battery pack and module system performance and specifications. This role involves leading a battery design team to create a battery system that aligns with customer needs. Additionally, the performance and functionality of the Battery Management System (BMS) will fall under the engineer's purview, requiring the definition and communication of BMS performance metrics to the BMS team as part of the design inputs. Regular organization of battery/module design review meetings at each project milestone is essential. Collaboration with the battery cell team to establish performance and lifecycle models will also be necessary to forecast battery performance throughout its operational lifespan.
- Engage with customers to gather and relay battery system requirements.
- Collaborate with the cell team to propose suitable cell options for specific battery systems.
- Lead the battery system development team in formulating design proposals for battery/modules.
- Develop cell performance models based on test data, predicting voltage and thermal performance under various driving conditions.
- Oversee the planning of validation requirements and testing for battery system development.
- Present and clarify battery system design proposals and plans to customers.
- Facilitate battery/module design review meetings at each project milestone.
- Assist in matching product project pairs for reporting activities.
