The Director of Admissions, Communications and Outreach will play a key role in shaping the undergraduate admissions experience at Tufts University. This position will oversee the development and implementation of office-wide strategy, policy, and practice, ensuring that Tufts Admissions communicates effectively with a diverse range of students, school counselors, and college access advisors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute communications that are engaging, informative, and accessible to a wide spectrum of students and stakeholders.
- Lead the communications, outreach and access, and selection portfolios, overseeing staff members with direct responsibility for these areas.
- Ensure consistent messaging through all written communication, print publications, and oral presentations.
- Partner with the Dean of Admissions and Director of Undergraduate Admissions to ensure enrollment objectives are met.
- Develop and implement office-wide initiatives, revising them as needed based on feedback, office needs, and experience.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners, including school counselors and community-based organizations.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in highly selective admissions.
- Prior professional staff supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and lead office-wide initiatives.
- Previous experience working with diverse student populations and/or access-focused initiatives.
- Proven relationship-building with school counselors and community-based organizations.
- Outstanding communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and a willingness to work with diverse populations.
