Parking Director Job Description

The City of Medford is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Parking Director to lead the Parking Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in parking operations, management, and enforcement, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement parking policies and programs to ensure efficient and effective parking operations.
  • Supervise and manage a team of parking control specialists, meter equipment repair persons, and clerical staff.
  • Manage the parking control software and ensure accurate and timely collection of violation fines and issuance of parking permits.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Public Works, Engineering, and Traffic, to ensure smooth parking operations and enforcement.
  • Develop and present the annual budget for the Parking Department.
  • Perform financial accounting of all in-house collections, including parking permits, violations, and meter collections.
  • Respond to and investigate parking violation complaints and broken parking meters.
  • Make recommendations to the Mayor and other authorities on parking-related matters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, customer-centric field, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of management experience in parking operations or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple departments.
  • Knowledge of parking regulations, laws, and policies.
