Position Overview

We are inviting skilled and enthusiastic candidates to consider a role as Service Technicians at Rivian. This position is part of an ongoing recruitment effort, allowing us to identify qualified individuals for future opportunities. The Service Technician will play a crucial role in enhancing both internal and external customer satisfaction at our service facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical expertise coupled with exceptional customer service abilities. You will collaborate daily with our internal teams to address service requirements and coordinate with our Service, Vehicle and Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineer teams. This position demands a proactive and resourceful individual with outstanding communication skills, who will promote cross-functional collaboration and advocate for a culture of continuous improvement to support both Service teams and customers. Success in this role requires a customer-centric mindset, the ability to thrive in unpredictable situations, and a creative, flexible approach to problem-solving. Experience in automotive service, process optimization, and handling escalations is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in supporting pre-production vehicle assembly, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Travel to various locations as needed until the local Service Center is operational.
  • Operate remotely until the local service center opens, if applicable.
  • Adhere to Rivian repair protocols efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct or assist with diagnostics, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
  • Support vehicle repairs in non-service center environments.
  • Perform road tests on vehicles to verify repair quality.
  • Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Stay current with technical skills and required training.
  • Support campaigns and containment initiatives as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate expense reporting as required.
  • Deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Foster a collaborative team spirit in a dynamic work environment.
  • Provide field service support to enhance the Service organization.
  • Exhibit professionalism in customer-facing interactions.
  • Additional support, including travel, may be required based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited automotive repair program preferred.
  • Experience requirements will vary based on business needs.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Skilled in navigating computer systems in both Windows and Mac environments.
  • Basic understanding of diagnostics and workflows.
  • Able to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical theory, including high and low voltage systems.
  • Ability to perform tire repairs and vehicle alignments.
  • Experience with hybrid vehicle repairs is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle electronic communication systems, such as CAN Bus.
  • Ability to drive non-commercial trucks and trailers preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, as required.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • No driving-related suspensions or revocations within the last 3-5 years.
  • Experience in parts departments and billing preferred.
  • Familiarity with work order management systems and repair documentation.
  • Experience in start-up environments preferred.
  • Demonstrates patience and a willingness to learn.
  • Maintains a positive attitude in challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Physical exertion may be required for various tasks (sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.).
  • Frequent use of hands for tool operation, data entry, and communication.
  • Ability to read and communicate in fluent English.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as regulations, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Availability for a regular schedule of 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Shifts may include evenings, overnight, or early morning hours.
  • Ability to accurately document repairs completed and in progress.

Salary Range for Nevada Applicants: Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other permissible factors.
