Job Overview

Automotive Service Technician

Compensation: $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. This position may also offer additional bonuses and incentives.

The Automotive Service Technician role can be either full-time or part-time, structured as an hourly position based on the operational needs of the business. The primary responsibility of the Technician is to perform fundamental vehicle diagnostics and execute routine maintenance and repair services, adhering to company protocols and manufacturer guidelines. This role is expected to provide outstanding service to our customers, effectively communicating vehicle concerns and suggested solutions, while consistently meeting customer expectations regarding timeframes and quality of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct basic vehicle diagnostics to accurately determine necessary repairs.
  • Regularly complete the Courtesy Inspection process for every customer vehicle, identifying, documenting, and discussing additional required services and repairs; oversee inspections conducted by General Service Technicians.
  • Assist in managing inventory, including retrieving tires and parts, as well as unloading and organizing stock.
  • Support general store operations, ensuring the facility is maintained to high standards of cleanliness and is consistently ready for customers.
  • Perform services in accordance with safety standards, including but not limited to proper wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles in line with company policy, utilizing designated routes while adhering to all local traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Comprehend and comply with company policies, governmental regulations, and safety standards, including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance technical knowledge and skills by completing all required training courses and modules.
  • Safely operate and maintain all tools and equipment in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Possession of a basic set of automotive tools or participation in a tool purchase program.
  • Ability to work with hands above head, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • A customer-focused mindset.
  • Maintain an Automotive Technician State Inspector's license, where applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASE certification in at least one of the A1-A8 categories.
  • Automotive Technician State Inspector License.
  • Certificate or degree from an automotive technical school.
