Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation is a leading provider of contract solutions to public and private sector customers worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Laborer - Maintenance and Repair Specialist to join our team in Blackstone, VA.

Compensation and Benefits

The selected candidate will be offered a competitive salary of $19.99 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential for working the 3rd shift. Additionally, the company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan and accrued paid time off.

Job Responsibilities

The Laborer - Maintenance and Repair Specialist will perform general labor work, loading and unloading trucks, moving supplies and materials, and stacking materials for storage or binning. They will also collect refuse and salvageable materials, dig, fill, and tamp earth excavations, and level ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake. Other responsibilities include shoveling concrete and snow, cleaning culverts and ditches, cutting trees and brush, operating power lawnmowers, and moving heavy pieces of equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have the ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis, knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices, and basic knowledge of custodial, recycling, and working with hazardous materials. They must also be able to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others, and have a valid driver's license to operate a company vehicle.

Bonus Information

This position requires frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, reaching, and balancing, and physical fitness to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions. The candidate must also be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test, criminal record check, and motor vehicle check, and report to work within one hour of notification when scheduled for on-call duties. Working alternate shift schedules, including weekends and holidays, may be required to meet mission requirements.
