About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Account Manager to join our Employee Benefits group at Longterm Health Management Services.

The Account Manager will support our Sales team and Account Executive by expertly stewarding and maintaining existing carrier and client relationships with a high level of service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain client relationships in conjunction with the Account Executive, including accompanying them on prospect or client meetings.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of client needs and goals, providing service resulting in retention and renewal.
  • Support the implementation of new lines of coverage by setting up accounts, collecting needed documentation, and reviewing plan details with clients and carriers.
  • Assist the Account Executive in the renewal process for all assigned clients, including requesting claims history and aiding in obtaining updated information.
  • Lead and project manage the renewal marketing process, including preparing requests for proposals, spreadsheeting, and plan changes.
  • Maintain client files accurately and consistently document conversations, sending confirmations to clients.
  • Develop relationships with insurance carriers to generate optimal results for clients.
  • Prepare materials for clients and open enrollment meetings, including carrier educational materials, employee benefit guides, PowerPoint presentations, reports, and forms.
  • Ensure that client benefit plans remain in full compliance.
  • Lead client open enrollment meetings.
  • Adhere to client timelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training plus 2 years of Broker/Agency experience.
  • Experience with mid-market lives.
  • Self-starter with the ability to excel independently and take initiative when necessary.
  • Managing up: not afraid to ask questions or ask for feedback.
  • Self-funded experience a plus.
  • Required to obtain and maintain appropriate licenses as required by state regulations.
  • Operate with clients, colleagues, and vendors using a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and handle a heavy workload timely, efficiently, and professionally.
  • Polished presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer literacy skills.
  • Flexibility and an outstanding work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to travel to client sites with own transportation.
