Pediatric LPN Opportunity at UPMC Hershey Pediatrics

UPMC is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Hershey Pediatrics team. This is a full-time, day shift position with occasional weekend coverage for our annual Flu Shot clinic each fall.


Job Summary:

As a Pediatric LPN, you will provide professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers. Your responsibilities will include drawing blood, administering medications, assisting physicians with examinations and treatments, and documenting patient information.


Responsibilities:
  • Draw blood and administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
  • Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures, including those related to regulatory agencies.
  • Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Document all activities, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating physician advice.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing and have one year of clinical experience. You must also hold a current LPN license and have completed the required certifications, including CPR and Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting.
