Job Description

The Senior Accountant, Revenue position is a key role within the finance team at United Nations Foundation, responsible for maintaining billing records and ensuring accurate revenue recognition.

Responsibilities
  • Generate invoices, monitor unbilled amounts, and ensure timely billing cycles for various project types, including Time & Material (T&M), Firm Fixed Price (FFP), and Cost Plus (CP).
  • Review invoices for accuracy and compliance with US GAAP and other accounting regulations, guaranteeing transparency and accountability in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement efficient billing processes, ensuring seamless integration with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Analyze and address potential issues or discrepancies in receivables to revenue process, maintaining a high level of precision and attention to detail.
  • Prepare comprehensive analyses of unbilled amounts on a weekly basis, providing actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Support internal and external audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to enhance overall financial management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with 5+ years of progressive experience in project accounting and revenue recognition.
  • Proven expertise in processing and validating project-type invoices, particularly T&M, FFP, and CP.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
